Planning & preparation

Choose a welcoming beginner yoga session

A preparation guide for finding an appropriate starting point, without pose instructions.

A small way to start

  1. Look for beginner instruction from a qualified teacher and ask about adapting the session.
  2. Tell the teacher privately about any relevant limitations; do not record medical details in My Week.
  3. Check what the session needs. A mat is optional for planning; it is not proof a practice is suitable.
  4. If instruction is not arranged yet, use your slot to choose a session rather than attempt unfamiliar poses.

If the week gets busy

Use the slot only to prepare your space, look at your calendar or decide on your next step. Leave the activity for another suitable time.

Keep it appropriate for you
